The Uprising (2026) 1-Disc Set Blu-ray

Helmed by visionary Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Paul Greengrass, The Uprising delivers a gripping, visceral cinematic recreation of the legendary Peasants’ Revolt of 1381. Andrew Garfield delivers a fierce, emotionally charged performance as Ploughman, an ordinary farmer broken by the loss of his family to the Black Death who is pushed past the breaking point by royal taxation and serfdom. Alongside radical preacher John Ball (Jamie Bell) and Wat Tyler (Cosmo Jarvis), he galvanizes thousands of commoners to march on London and confront the tyrannical regime of teenage monarch King Richard II.

Renowned for his raw, kinetic style, Greengrass infuses medieval history with heart-stopping urgency, authentic battle choreography, and deep thematic weight. Featuring a stellar cast that includes Thomasin McKenzie, Katherine Waterston, and Tom Hollander, this 1-disc Blu-ray release renders the film’s gritty atmospheric landscapes and thunderous crowd sequences with extraordinary detail and dynamic lossless sound.
