Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You (2026) 2-Disc Set Blu-ray

Adapted from Jinushi’s award-winning manga phenomenon, Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You brings its deeply heartfelt, slow-burn dynamic to life with gorgeous animation and understated charm. The story follows Sasaki, an overworked middle-aged salaryman weighed down by corporate exhaustion, whose lone daily solace is a brief, cheerful interaction with Yamada, the cashier at his local supermarket. When a brutal workday leaves him missing her shift, he retreats behind the building for a quiet smoke break, only to be invited into a secluded smoking area by a stylish, mysterious young woman named Tayama. Sasaki remains completely oblivious that Tayama is actually Yamada outside her retail uniform, sparking an endearing routine of shared cigarettes, quiet late-night banter, and unspoken emotional refuge.

Crafted by Asahi Production with striking visual warmth and a soulful atmospheric score, this acclaimed series captures the authentic ache of modern adulthood and the quiet comfort of unlikely companionship. From subtle facial expressions and witty back-and-forth dialogue to rich slice-of-life scenery, every episode celebrates genuine personal connection in the most unassuming corners of city life. Presented in pristine high-definition video and rich multi-channel master audio across two Blu-ray discs, this complete collection is an indispensable physical release for fans of mature, emotionally resonant anime romances.
